The Ranchero has been with me since I returned from Germany in 1991. Was then stationed at Fort Stewart near Hinesville, GA when the Ranchero search began. I was looking for a project car and finally found this one at a dealer in Savannah.
It was the original (faded) red with gold vinyl striping. One rear quarter panel was dinged, but it was all there and ran well.
Rebuilt the suspension, and painted the car in the base hobby shop. Had big plans for more work including engine, trans and interior. Just then, however, a transfer to the Pentagon came along. So, I just threw on a seatcover set and a "topper" and hit the road...
...over next 20 years, it slowly morphed into its present configuration..
